AutomotiveLimestone County, Alabama is centrally located between many of the Southeast’s major automotive manufacturers. The county features a certified automotive megasite, as well as available land and buildings suitable for automotive manufacturing use. Limestone County has been considered by the most recent OEM projects.
Available Workforce
Athens and Limestone County have workers trained and experienced in automotive manufacturing, with additional training available through local and statewide workforce development programs. The workforce development programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of automotive manufacturers and suppliers, and many of them are offered at no cost to the employer. Additionally, Alabama’s automotive manufacturing companies have overall typically had a low union presence.
Tax Incentives / Business Assistance
Alabama offers highly competitive tax incentives and business assistance programs for automotive manufacturers and suppliers. In addition to state tax incentives, local incentives are also available for qualify companies and projects.
Sites and Buildings
Limestone County is prepared for new automotive manufacturers and suppliers. In addition to the megasite, the county has six fully-serviced industrial parks and other sites and buildings. The buildings range in size from 15,000 square feet to over 60,000 square feet. Most of the industrial parks, sites and buildings are located in close proximity to Interstate-65, Interstate-565, and other major shipping routes.
